Lakes 11,592' (foreground) and 11,837' (background) of Ionian Basin from pass between Mt. Solomons and the Goddard Divide, Mt. Scylla on left, 8/21/79. This photo is the first one shot after departing from the John Muir Trail at Muir Pass. Here we are starting on a long journey around Mt. Goddard without the benefit of a trail. In fact, this is the longest stretch of cross-country travel I have done in the High Sierra.
