Alpine Gold?, (Hulsea), on ascent of Mt. Kaweah, 1975. I rembember this photo well, that I took 45 years ago, and I did not keep a journal or notes on my photographs. This flower was growing high on the slopes of Mt. Kaweah, well above the timberline (as was the plant in the previous photo). I was struck with amazement that this plant could survive and exist in such a barren and hostile environment.
