Andrew Christensen and Mary Petersen were married on April 2, 1884, in Shelby County, Iowa. Their story is a remarkable one, like many who farmed in the heart of the United States during the 19th and early 20th centuries. This web site is dedicated to the story of Andrew and Mary, their ancestors and descendants.

The photos in the header and on the left were taken on July 25, 2007. They are photos of the land that was the first farm of Andrew and Mary. The original barns and house of the farm are still standing, as seen in the header photo, although the house is beyond salvage.
